Dr. Steve Stewart

Veterinarian

Dr. Stewart grew up in Woodstock, Ontario and knew from an early age that he wanted to pursue a career working with animals. Dr. Stewart enjoyed playing sports and being active, football becoming a passion for him. Dr. Stewart played football through high school and he continued to play varsity football at the University of Guelph. At Guelph, he graduated from the Ontario Agricultural College and then, went on to complete his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at the Ontario Veterinary College. Afterwards, Dr. Stewart worked as a veterinarian in London Ontario for a year, and then joined the Elgin Animal Clinic team in St. Thomas, Ontario in 1975. The Talbot Animal Clinic was opened in 1976, with Dr. Stewart as the principal veterinarian, and he has been there ever since.

When not at the clinic, Dr. Stewart enjoys spending as much time outdoors as he can. His hobbies include gardening, horse racing, and to say he enjoys golfing would be an understatement. Dr. Stewart and his wife Sue have two sons, one daughter, and two grandchildren that keep them active. His family has had several wonderful pets over the years, and their current group of critters consist of their dog and two cats.
